Dear Golden Light..

Your bold shades on the rocks caught my attention.
You helped me to see the golden richness
present within your darker colors.

Your light gives a deeper and wider perspective
of the rocks, in their shape, depth and beauty.
Your light helps me to see the more
that I would not see without your help.

Light offers a change in perspective
if I am willing to see.
What a gift you give.

How often we use the expression
"we need a little more light on the subject"!!
That light can come from many different sources,
all sharing their own light and perspective.

Too often I can refuse to see.
I close my mind.
I adhere to what I know.

In so doing I/we, miss the possibility of seeing
The Golden Richness.

The Golden Richness of all persons,
The Golden Richness of all cultures,
The Golden Richness of Mother Earth
and all Beings, who so desire to share their light with us.

In opening ourselves
to new perspectives, new understandings, new ideas and new opportunities,
we can come to see and know clearly
that we are One Family,
filled with light
and
sharing a deep sense of community.

Dear stepping stones...

As you provide a path through sister water to land, I am not sure,
I would have the courage or the balance to walk your path.

As I look closely I also see that one of you, is heart shaped, and it
touches me and amazes me.
You remind me of how often it takes trust and love to walk the many paths
of our lives.

Dear Flaming Sky,

you are a brilliant light in the darkness
giving me hope, peace and joy.
Thank you.

Thank you too, for your reminder,
that light comes
even in the blackest night.
I love you.

Dear Dandylion,

How often I played with you when I was a kid,
and if I am honest I still like playing with you as an adult.
I love your vibrant color and am in awe when
you transform into your delicate puffy white ball.
I love blowing on your tender seedlings and watching them fly all around me.
I have a hard time, hearing folks refer to you as weeds and want you off their lawns.

As I look at you today, much older in years, I am asking your help in understanding the
the gift of Transformation.
To let go of your many vibrant yellow stems and become that delightful puffy white ball,
takes courage and trust that you are truly not gone, but have taken on a different form.

Transformation is truly a part of the life process but I have not really taken the time
to see it all around me and WITHIN ME!
Growth is a Transforming process...beautiful and yet fearful.
You change...I change..

I used to think that change "just happens", it's a part of all life.
Some of that is true, yet what I have to be more aware of is
HOW I will embrace or deny this change.
Will I do it in fear and helplessness
or
Will I do it with Courage, Trust and Love,
aware that I do not walk alone without guidance, LOVE and support!!!

Other times, changes CAN ONLY OCCUR
IF I AM/WE ARE WILLING AND ALLOW
THEM TO HAPPEN.

Am I willing to see something I have always believed, in a new light?
Am I willing to trust and reach out for help when I need it?
Am I willing to forgive and let go of past hurts to be
more open to embracing life more fully?
Am I willing to listen without judgement to diverse perspectives?
Am I willing to walk with someone I have never walked with before
hearing their story first hand and embracing their diversity?

Transformation is a slow process and for that I am grateful,
even if I want it completed yesterday.

Dear Dandylion, in your simplicity and beauty
you teach me so much. Thank you for reminding me,
as well,
that as we move through this transformative process, we must
keep our sense of humor active and take time for joy and fun.

Dear Family

I was going to try and focus on one member but
this photo reflects so beautifully the blessing
of you all, together as one.

Thank you for your peace and calm.
Your beauty
in
your artistry
 of color, shape and shadow.

Help us in the human family
to appreciate the gifts you give daily.

Thank you for your light,
which turns our day into JOY.

    for newness and hope.
You are ancient, yet, ever new.
Thank you for
the gift of YOU.

You are bold and strong
you are steady and sure
you are faithful and dependable.
Thank you for the gift of YOU.

Thank you for the steadfastness of your presence,
as you turn darkness into light and newness,

Dear Family,

I am in awe of your many shades, patterns and textures.
Seeing you brings me a sense of calm and peace, Thank you.
Without each and every one of you there would not be
this fullness and depth.

Your diversity is a richness that we humans have not
yet fully appreciated,  nor have we embraced the richness of diversity
within our own human family.

Thank you for reminding us that when we welcome and respect
the uniqueness of each other, we are so much more
than we could ever imagine.

Dear Beautiful and Playful Dolphin

I needed to be reminded of your playfulness today. You amaze me
with your graceful and high, jumps!!
I am restless and I don't know what I want or need right now.
Your gentle grace gives me peace and joy.

Playfulness is something our culture runs from.
We haven't got time, we're adults, get serious, grow up!!
And yet, what have we lost when we do not take time to play?
Healing, refreshment, renewal, joy, time with loved ones and time with ourselves.
Are these not valuable gifts?
Allowing ourselves to enjoy these gifts empowers us to move forward
in a more creative and vibrant manner.
Is that not a value worth our time?

What more would you like us to know dear Dolphin, your wisdom is truly needed and desired.

BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELVES! You keep demanding perfection of yourselves and
that is far from necessary!
When you are enjoying what you are doing on a regular basis
you will see and feel a big difference within you.

How can you enjoy your hectic daily schedules and your long work hours?
Start making things easier for yourselves.  Do what you need to do, not what you think
you have to do.  Be attentive and focused so that each task can be completed without
several tries due to multi-tasking.
Take things in small steps rather than trying to complete the whole package at one time.
Take time out for quiet and fun
when you feel overwhelmed.
Don't be afraid to ask for help, laugh!
BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELVES

Again, do what you need and want to do, not what you think you should do.
You are not responsible for everything and everyone!
Find ways to make things simpler and even fun.!
It is not a one size fits all, find YOUR way and watch
your energy rise and your tasks completed in a timely, creative and well done manor.

Enjoy a deeper and richer connection with family and friends.
It doesn't have to be a big event or large amount of time.
Take time out to be in nature, make ice cream sundaes as a family.
Do what you enjoy, together.
You may say this is all impossible and that is your CHOICE.
Be willing to give it a try and find out for yourself!!

Dear Dolphin, thank you..this makes so much sense,
give me the willingness and wisdom to make
the choices and changes I need.

Dear Orange Blossom,

I love your round fullness, brilliant color and numerous wavy petals.
You look like you are standing alone
yet the background of leaves and branches,
reminds me that you are strongly supported.

Going it alone is a big deal in our culture,
and often times we may feel alone;
yet if we are willing to open our eyes to see
we will recognize the gift of the many who
journey with us, empowering us to become
the fullness of who we are.

Thank you to sun and wind, water, and soil in all your many forms,
and all those who work to nourish Mother Earth in healthy
and sustainable ways.
Thank you to farmers, and growers whose hard daily work can so easily go unnoticed.
Thank you to all who pick the vegetables, fruits and flowers that feed us and nourish us.
Thank you to all who prepare the foods and transport them across the land
and across the waters.

Take some time today, to remember as well, those in your particular
life journey, visible and invisible
who strongly support you.

Dear Beautiful Bud,

Photo: Judith Kapp

You seem gently embraced as you move through your journey to full blossom.
You remind me, that I too am wrapped in love in each moment of my own
journey.
Your full bud reminds me of all the unknowns that you hold
and your patience as those unknowns become known.
So often I want to think I know exactly what is supposed to happen and yet that is not
what always comes forth.
Help me to become more comfortable with the unknowns in my own life,
and more trusting.
Believing that whatever does come forth, will bring a most benevolent outcome for my life.

Thank you dear bud..your message is just what I needed to hear today.
I am most grateful.

Dear Flowers,

I love your incredible fullness and uniqueness,
as you carry a world within you
and each and everyone matters.
I love your sister's patient waiting to burst forth into the beauty of who she is.
Your diversity in color and texture is rich and deep.
I love the silent strength of each stem that holds you tall and strong.

You show us, in a beautiful way that in order for you
to BE in your FULLNESS
many family members are needed, some easily seen, some not.

Help us in the human family to recognize our own interdependence
and to honor and give thanks for all those  visible, silent and unseen
that hold us up tall and strong in our daily lives.

Dear Flower Family,

I love the intricate patterning in each of your blossoms.
I can't even try to count the number of petals that form each whole.
Without each and every one you would not be complete.
I love your diversity and your sameness.

So much like our human family.
May we appreciate each ones sameness and uniqueness.
Knowing without each one...we as a human family
are not complete.

Ordinary....and yet NOT!!

How many times do we look?
How many times do we see?

See What? you say.
I see the flowers...they're nice.

Ah...there is so much more...
when I take the time to really look.
with my heart and my head.
Vibrant color
Soft petals
A family of blossoms
along one strong branch
and the branch
is held aloft
by other members of the family.

Artistry in shape, color and design
fragile and yet so strong.
The one long branch holding
numerous stems
and
the stems
carry the blossoms!

They are so beautiful
and ordinary...
and yet
they are also
magnificent
delicate
bold
and
breath taking!!
Ordinary...and yet..Not.

Don't miss the light....

A friend shared a reflection on the words of  Spirit..
"Let there be light"...
How often I've read and heard those words...
and yet today
I have spent more time..
aware of Light...
The orange sky this morning at sunrise...
The golden sun hovering over the trees tonight
with dark clouds in the sky...
The gentle blue of the sky peeking through as the dark clouds
began to move...
and even more
a deepening awareness of all those
who have been
and continue to be
light in my life...
human and non human.
What better gift at Christmas
then to truly see the light
within us
and around us.
Thank you,
for your light,
enjoy seeing the light
and
Being the Light!!

A time of re-birth and re-connection....

photo:Victoria Battellrsm

May this Christmas Season
be a time of
rebirth and re-connection.

A rebirth of and a deeper understanding of
 our Family Connection
to Mother Earth and all Beings

The gift of diversity and cultures
as well as,
The gift of so many creatures
who give their lives daily,
that the rest of the family
can be nourished and fed.

May this deeper sense of FAMILY
help us to see all Beings
with renewed eyes
and an open heart.

May we come to know
what a Gift we have
as One Family.

It's time to re-connect and know
the mix and gifts
of our extended Family!!

I want to say thank you...

photo:Green Grocer, Portsmouth, RI
I want to say Thank you
Dear Mother Earth
for all you give each day.

I want to send you my love
to support and strengthen you
as you deal with the choices
we in the human family make
without your life or needs in mind.

Keep me mindful of all that you give...
open my eyes anew
open my heart.
May I choose each day to love and strengthen
you
as you love and strengthen me.

Simple words of thanks...
Simple words of love...
as I/We
see your beauty...
feel your sun, wind and rain....
touch your soil, plants, flowers and rocks.
Eat of your fruits and grains.
Together
We are family...
Together
We nourish and feed each other...
I want to say thank you..
Today
and
Every day!
I love you.
